Calling all our big dudes! We get a lot requests for larger sized boards and we realized the need to bring the FAT CAT back in action. Believe it or not, the FAT CAT was originally in our board lineup in the early 2000’s and was a big crowd pleaser. The FAT CAT shape is a custom tailored traditional skimboard shape to offer maximum buoyancy while giving the rider plenty of maneuverability. Starting with the shape, it’s a traditional shape with the widest portion of the board about ⅔ of the way up towards the nose and tapers all the way back to the tail. Pushing the bulk of the volume under the front foot gives this board a ton of float while offering a pulled in pin tail to give the board great control. The FAT CAT has a ¾ core throughout which maximizes its volume and increases overall strength.

Skimboarding is performed closer to the shoreline, using a smaller, finless skimboard that glides across shallow water or breaks. Surfing typically involves paddling into deeper waves.
Skimboards are best for a rider when they are matched to the riders weight which makes them ideal for learning. Advanced riders often prefer fiberglass skimboards or carbon skimboards for higher performance.
Yes. Zap skimboards and Exile skimboards are highly regarded for quality and performance, with options for both beginners and pros.
Skimboards are versatile. Flatland skimboarding is popular on beaches with shallow water, while wave skimboarding allows riders to catch and ride breaking waves.
